A SECTOR BY SECTOR ANALYSIS FOR 2008
Annual Sector Synopsis
The very best energy for 2008 is found in the center, east, north, northeast, and southeast sectors.
The worst energy for 2008 is found in the south, southwest, west, and northwest sectors. I am writing about the northwest and the south sectors first because of the very difficult energy located in these sectors this year.
In 2008, we have some really wonderful energy and we have some very troubling energy. Many people work on the good energy sectors first and often don’t apply remedies to the negative energy areas. However, that is a mistake. Ignoring negative sector and concentrating on the positive ones is like being told you have gold in one corner of your property and you go to dig and ignore an angry mob of marauders heading toward your house.
Instead, you should do what you can to exercise protective feng shui first and foremost and fortify yourself against negative energy and once that is done, then work on digging your gold!
The energies for all nine sectors in 2008 have been detailed for you below.
NEGATIVE ENERGY SECTORS
NORTHWEST SECTOR (Travel, Helpful People, Patriarchs, Foreign Travel):
NOTE: Please pay special attention to this area in 2008.
NEGATIVE ENERGY FOR 2008 – Annual Black 2 Sickness Star
The annual 2 star brings many difficulties ranging from slander to stomach ailments to financial problems. Because it is in the northwest (big metal) sector this year the breadwinner or male in the family can be affected, as can the wealth and good name of the breadwinner. Therefore, it is especially important to ensure steps are taken to weaken the number 2 star. There is some good fortune that this star is located in the northwest, as the big metal of this area will help to deplete the negative earth energy of the 2.
This placement can cause health problems in the areas of the abdomen, reproductive problems, digestive complaints, and heart problems as the two star affects these areas. It could also cause problems with the head ranging from high blood pressure to migraines or headaches because the northwest corner where it is located this year is associated with the head. If your bathroom or storage room is located here, then that is a help. Placing a large cabinet here will help to lock up the negative 2 star.
Avoid red colors and open flames at all costs. Add a string of 6 Chinese coins to counteract this influence and make metal objects more prominent to exhaust the negative energy. Pregnant women should avoid this sector. Avoid digging in this sector or doing renovations here. Keep the area quiet and subdued.
TO REMEDY: Hang a hollow 6-rod all-metal windchime in this sector of the house, add a metal pendulum clock, keep a small fan blowing here, or add a string of 6 Chinese coins. Moving metal, like that of a clock, is the best remedy. Metal and metal colors in this sector will help control the negative effects. Because this is the “heaven” sector, it’s also vital to apply the correct remedies as this will protect the breadwinner from heart ailments and serious disease or disruption of income due to illness.
NOTE: Please pay special attention to this area in 2008.
SOUTH SECTOR (Fame, Recognition, Social Status):
FIVE YELLOW and THREE KILLINGS ARE LOCATED HERE! WATCH OUT!
It’s unusual but we have two afflictions in the south sector for 2008 and this demands extra attention. The south sector hosts the very troublesome 5 yellow star this year and the three killings energy affliction. This can cause all kinds of problems from illness to lawsuits to troublesome school-related issues, legal disputes and slander, you name it. Avoid digging or renovating in this area to as not to create "five kinds of trouble" for yourself. Avoid red colors and use metal or water colors and objects here to help drain the negative energy.

TO REMEDY: If your front door is located in the south, try to use another door if possible this year. Keep this area of the house quiet and undisturbed. If you have a bathroom or closet located here, you are in luck. Keep the doors closed to this sector. Add metal colors and objects to this sector to weaken the 5 Yellow. A 6-rod metal windchime with hollow-rods will help you overcome the negative energy here. Moving metal is the best remedy for the 5 Yellow. A pendulum clock, a whirling fan or any kind of metal movement is helpful. Shiny metal bowls or figures are also effective as are metal colors of white, gray, silver and gold.
Three Killings Located Here This Year
Be aware, though, that the 3 Killings is located here, and you shouldn't have your back to the south. People will talk about you and gossip could hurt your good name, rob you, try to steal from you, or otherwise betray you. Concentration will also be poor if your back is to the south. Watch for legal tangles and lawsuits. Although this area would benefit by having crystals located here, doing so would create problems with aggravating the 5 Yellow star.
Remember: the south doesn’t just have a problem in the sector this year. The south is a problem as a direction. That means energy coming from the south, the direction of social name and standing, will cause problems for you. To remedy the 3 Killings each year, one applies cures based on the direction (this year it’s south) and the 5 Element Theory.
Therefore, because the energy comes from the south and is a problem and the south is the direction of fire and heat, one applies the remedy that one would apply if you were trying to put out a fire – water or earth. You throw either water or dirt to smother a fire. This is what you would also do in this sector this year – bring in a fountain or crystals. I prefer a quiet fountain so as not to disturb the 5 yellow or use blue and black colors.
Please be cautious as you will want to be especially vigilant about having your back to the south regardless of where you are – whether that’s sitting at your desk, sleeping in bed with your head pointed south, eating at your dining table or sitting on the sofa to watch TV. Arrange your desk, sofa, or dining chair so that you do not have the south behind you.
SOUTHWEST SECTOR (Romance, Relationships, Women, Woman of the House):
7 RED ROBBERY STAR LOCATED HERE
This sector has the violent 7 star here this year. There is a possibility for violence, robbery, or deception, theft, and gossip and slander – particularly for women of the house. Backstabbing is a big possibility. You should be especially careful if this is the sector where your back door or front door fall. If so, take extra security measures and watch all documents carefully and do not answer the door unless you know who is there.
The 7 star is also very pointed, like the blade of a knife, and has some good qualities – such as the ability to “cut through” a problem and can bring windfalls and acclaim, especially for women. This year watch as women break through and rise to greater prominence because the 7 star is in a productive location in the southwest. Women business leaders and owners will move ahead in their lives with hard work and the rewards will be generous – particularly for self-employed women, salespeople, PR people, actors, and anyone interested in starting a new career or job.
TO REMEDY: Double check all security features in your home from burglar alarms to fire alarms. Avoid loud noises, digging, or clanging. Place a picture of a deity or a religious image. Thorny plants will also help this area.
WEST SECTOR (Children, Creativity, Family):
NEGATIVE No. 3 JADE/QUARRELSOME STAR
The west sector will see squabbles and fights break out in the portion of the house. Keep the house brightly lit or place red colored objects here to curtail the effects of the argument and hostilities star. Avoid hanging a noisy windchime here or having anything noisy in this area as it will stir up the negative energy. The three star located here can cause problems for children and gossip or misunderstandings.
This is a good location for sales people and anyone who makes a living talking, such as a professional speaker, teacher, or singer. Because it is a wood star in a metal location, the metal will help to control it. Bright reds and bright lights will also help to dissolve some of the negativity associated with talking, gossip and ill-will. A fountain can also soften some of the effects of the three star and bring some wealth potential.
FOR EFFECTIVE FENG SHUI YOU MUST DIAGRAM YOUR SPACE
If you have not taken the time to diagram your space, please be sure to do so now. It will help you place your enhancements correctly and maximize the results you get from feng shui. To do so is also to help you make certain you know exactly where each direction is in your space. This is critical and it is important that you do it correctly in order to achieve the results you want.
Over time you have heard me repeatedly say that you must use a compass to determine the true directions of your space. That’s because the directions are altered in your home or office merely by the objects in the space – and this can range from the studs and nails in the walls to the type of foundation you have.
It is why determining where your south sector is by where the sun rises and sets is neither accurate nor effective. You must use a compass. Furthermore, as the seasons change, so does the course of the sun. In the winter, the sun sets in a more southwest direction than western. So you see, you cannot know exactly what direction your home is until you take a compass reading.
Another important aspect in regarding the directions of your space is to know where all eight directions fall. Many western compasses only show you the cardinal directions (N, E, S, W), and so you may not know exactly where NE or SW is in relationship to these directions. This is very important to know. Below are the degrees of the compass for each of the eight directions.
POSITIVE ENERGY SECTORS
CENTER SECTOR (Health, Wealth, Relationships)
WHITE STAR 1 MAKES THIS A FAVORABLE SECTOR
This sector enjoys wonderful career, romance, and wealth energy. Activate this by placing a fountain in the southeast corner of your office or living room. Those with a pool, office, living room, or front door in the center sector will enjoy wonderful financial benefits and career opportunities. However, be cautious of real estate deals that seem too good to be true. Purple, blue, or black colors are especially enhancing as the white star is associated with wealth. Pictures of waterfalls, lakes, and rivers are all wonderful activators of the white 1 star.
SOUTHEAST SECTOR (Wealth, Material Abundance):
No. 9 PURPLE STAR BRINGS FUTURE WEALTH ENERGY
The 9 Purple star is in the southeast sector this year that brings great potential to this area especially if your front door, bedroom, or office is located here. The 9 star is related to promotion and fame. Are you an actor, a writer, a politician? If so, you stand a great chance to become known this year if your bedroom, door, or office is located in this sector.
This star makes everything go better! Relationships will be harmonious, husbands and wives will get along beautifully, the women of the house will be happy! This is especially so for writers, students, artists, business people, and actors. Because it is in the southeast sector, the 9 star, which is related to fire will be fed by the small wood of the southeast. This is a wonderful combination.
Looking to conceive? The sector with the 9 star is the fertility sector. Add pomegranates, images of elephants or children in this corner of the house as this star can help enhance fertility! This is especially helpful if your bedroom is located here. But, if you are looking to conceive, add these symbols to the southeast corner of the living room, bedroom, and the southeast sector of your home to enhance your chances of conceiving. Be sure to make love in this sector of the house.
Looking to get married? The southeast is also home to the romance 4 star. Because the 9 (fire) star and 4 (small wood star) are so harmonious, a romance could ignite this year for those looking for love. Add fresh flowers to this sector to bump up the great potential here.
One of the nicest aspects of this star is that it denotes some kind of recognition with it... such as an appointment to an office, some official award or other type of recognition. Look for this in particular if your home and facing direction and door are facing southeast, or if your office or bedroom are located here. Look for fame and fortune to come looking for you.
To enhance this sector add pretty flowers. The 9 star is potent enough that it does not require any significant enhancement. The oldest daughter will see some good success this year with this placement.
NORTH SECTOR (Career, Business Opportunities):
EXCELLENT NO. 6 HEAVEN ENERGY IN THIS SECTOR THIS YEAR!
The energy located in the north is perfect for anyone whose front door or home office or bedroom or living room is located here. Anyone who spends any time in this sector will find that they receive benefits and help from others in a position to help them as the 6 white star brings with it prosperity, power and authority. Add crystals here to enhance the effects. Add figures of religious deities to enhance the wonderful heaven energy in this sector. There is prosperity combined with business and career interests… it’s a year to move ahead financially and come to the attention of others in recognition and earnings!
If this sector is your bedroom, place dark-colored blankets and coverings on the bed as it can cause excess energy that harms your liver or head.
The Grand Duke 352 – 07 Degrees
The Grand Duke energy is one that is most potent. His energy is best when it works with you to support you – so this is a case where the energy is not all bad, but you have to work with it. Directly confronting this energy will results in showdowns and bad luck, especially with superiors. Always sit with this energy at your back and do not face the direction of the Grand Duke even if it means turning your desk, changing your sofa. Absolutely do no digging, banging, or renovating in this portion of your home – wait until next year. If your front door is located here, enter the house this way and exit another direction so that you do not face the Grand Duke.
EAST SECTOR (Health, Family relationships):
No. 8 WEALTH STAR LOCATED HERE BRINGS GOOD NEWS
The 8 star brings many good things, exciting times, and wonderful success. Because the 8 star is in a wood sector this year, the results aren’t as good as if it were in another sector. Even so, if your front door, bedroom, or office is located here, you might just find 2008 is a wonderful year for you and that you enjoy great wealth and fame for your family! The oldest son also benefits by added recognition from the 8 star.
If your office is here, add a three-legged toad, crystals, stones, and globes here. If your bedroom is located here, use crystals to enhance the wealth potential of the sector. If your front door is located in this corner of the house, be sure to add vases to “collect and store” the excellent energy here to bring about business and personal wealth and success. Careful of being in this sector if you are pregnant. It is possible that children can become ill in this sector. Watch for bone pain or bone-related injuries.
NORTHEAST SECTOR (Spirituality, Wisdom, Education, Personal Growth):
No. 4 Green Star located in this sector
Typically, the four star brings great creative and academic success and travel energy to this sector. However, the four star is a wood energy and it’s placed in an earth location this year so it may interfere with decision-making. To make the best of this location add red colors, candles, lamps and anything representative of fire. There is a possibility of miscarriage and bone problems with the four star this year.

Now that you know the degrees, you should be able to mark your diagram accurately. Doing all this takes a little time and a little effort. And, I’ll admit, the information can also be a little confusing, too. But, it’s worth taking the time to work it out. Plus, you will be amazed by all the benefits you receive. So in light of all you stand to gain, isn’t it worth it?
