What kind of people usually want a Feng Shui consultation?
There are two kinds: those who want to improve their lives and businesses and those who simply want to create comfortable, relaxed, and inspiring environments in their homes and offices. Both understand that to do so is enhancing to their relationships (with family or coworkers), their finances, and their overall well-being.
Why should I have a feng shui consultation?
People are sensitive to their environments today. Feng Shui offers us a way to make our lives and businesses more productive and prosperous by finding out what areas in our homes and businesses are not flowing correctly or are holding us back. Best of all, a feng shui consultation will tell you how to correct trouble spots and boost beneficial areas.
What can I expect from a Feng Shui consultation?
A consultant should first discuss your goals and objectives, whether that is to simply make a more harmonious environment, improve your relationships, or to increase customers to your business. Or, perhaps you have a problem that you would like to solve. If this is the case, the consultant should focus on solving the particular problem and determing what is creating the difficulty. Afterwards, the consultant should suggest adjustments that you can make to correct the problem; these shoud be fairly easy to accomplish.
How should I select a feng shui consultant?
Get a referral from someone who is happy with the consultant's services. Next, be sure to ask if your consultant has been trained and by whom. Really, the best way is to simply ask people for recommendations for consultants who have gotten them good results. Lastly, you might want to ask if the consultant will be using a lo pan. This is the most important tool for assessing the feng shui of your space.
What is your experience?
My background includes over 14 years of Feng Shui study and professional practice. I am also a Certified Master Practitioner, having studied feng shui in Asia.
Most notably, I practice Compass School feng shui, Eight Mansions, and Flying Star. The reason I choose these schools of feng shui is because I have personally seen the amazing results that they generate. Even today, when I make adjustments to my own home I am still surprised at how well -- and fast -- feng shui can work!

How much do your feng shui consultations cost?
This depends on several factors, such as whether the evaluations are mailed in or are done in-person. For instance, telephone consultations are less expensive but still extremely effective. In-person consultations are higher. Price also depends on size of the building or home and if travel is required or not. Smaller spaces are easier to assess, so they cost less. Larger spaces are harder, so they, therefore, will cost more.
For quick, at-a-glance readings, you can also select a feng shui appraisal. This consists of an approximately two-page report that gives you the pluses and minuses of your location (this can be a business, home, or office) and recommendations about enhancements. It's quick, concise, and to the point, but very effective. Another consideration is the phone consultation. These can be very powerful and effective -- answering many of the questions you have quickly and easily -- and for a lot less than a full consultation.
Please note that experienced and reputable feng shui practitioners can be expensive.
If you can't afford a practitioner, then buy some books and work on your own feng shui yourself. This is preferable to letting someine into your home who is not experienced, making it important to be careful of inexperienced or novice practitioners. Or, better still, attend a seminar. After hiring a consultant to come to your house, this is the best way to affect the feng shui of your space.
What is a PHONE CONSULTATION like?
Phone consultations run one hour in length and are recorded so you can listen to the consultation as many times as you like -- because you will always hear something new every time you listen! You'll find out where the power spots are in your home or office and how to maximize these power spots and minimize the problem areas. You'll receive your diagram of your floorplan with notations and the telephone call will be recorded and sent to you in a digital file by email.
What will I need to provide you with at the time of the consultation?
- A detailed floor plan drawn to scale showing all doors and windows. I prefer to work on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper versus architectural drawings. If you don't have a floor plan, you will need to have one drawn.
- Birth dates of everyone living in your home or of the principals of your business and any important members of management.
- Year of construction and the dates of any renovations (new carpet, new decorating, new room, etc.). This date helps me to prepare the "natal chart" of your home or office.
