Personal feng shui is a type of formula feng shui called Eight Mansions. This feng shui is related to a number derived from your birth date and gender. This number has certain directions that are fortunate or unfortunate.
The number is called your personal kua (KWAH) number. The number falls into one of two groups: East or West. Auspicious directions are determined by whether you are an East person or a West person. To determine your kua number, use the Red Lotus Letter feng shui KUA calculator.
There are two kinds of people: East and West
In personal feng shui, there are two groups of people, east people and west people. They are broken out as follows:
East Group People: Kua Numbers 1, 3, 4, & 9
Your auspicious directions are north, south, east, and southeast
West Group People: Kua Numbers 5, 2, 6, 7, & 8
Your auspicious directions are west, southwest, northwest, and northeast
Personal Feng Shui's Most Important Rule: Observe The Man's Directions
Feng shui goes back thousands of years and because of this it is very traditional with regard to men's and women's roles. So, when it comes to selecting a home and front door direction, sleeping in a particular sector or direction, it is always the man's best directions that are observed.
This is because men are usually the breadwinners of the family and their position must be respected and protected. No, it's not politically correct, but if the man is the breadwinner in the home, then his directions should always come before anyone else's. If the woman is the breadwinner, then hers would take precedence.
Personal feng shui is most powerful when:
- Your front door and/or house faces your auspicious directions
- Your bedroom door faces your auspicious directions
- You carry a compass and make extra efforts to negotiate raises,salaries, loans, gambling, contracts, etc., facing your success direction
- You sleep with your head pointed in your success direction
- Your office is in a success location and/or your desk faces your success direction
HOW TO IMPLEMENT YOUR AUSPICIOUS DIRECTIONS (AD): 6 EASY IDEAS
1. Enter the house using a door in your AD; avoid the doors from the 
non-AD
2. Sleep with your head pointing in your AD
3. Dine and seat each person in your family at the table in their AD
4. Face your AD at your desk at work (if this is possible)
5. Energize, emphasize, and accentuate the AD locations in your home
6. Always negotiate (a mortgage, raise, or anything) facing your AD
You may not always be able to face, eat, sleep, etc. in your AD, but do as many of them as possible.

5 Ways to Use Your Personal Success Colors
1. Make your front door a success. According to feng shui, this is the most important place in your home and the source of opportunities and advancement, so paint it your personal success color to invite more opportunities into your life.
2. On the job.
Use your personal success color in your interview wardrobe or when you have important meetings.
3. Woo with color. If you want to influence that special someone, try wearing your relationship color on your next date. These colors are good for enhancing any relationship.
4. Surround yourself with success.
Paint your living room, office, or bedroom your personal success color. Or, if relationships are more important to you, go with the relationship colors.
5. Pair relationships and success. Success and rewarding relationships are equally important. To balance both, try using both success and family colors in your home, office, or business environment.
