Feng Shui for Loneliness
Tips to bring love and friendships into your life
Publisher, The Red Lotus Letter
One of the saddest things in life is loneliness.
The emptiness that comes with feeling
lonely is unlike any other feeling. If the l
oneliness is due to a lack of friends, the
accompanying isolation can be difficult to
deal with and even lead to depression.
If the loneliness is the ache of not having
someone to love, there’s a feeling that
somehow you are incomplete and that
time is slipping past.
Feng shui can address both types of loneliness. Feng shui understands that people are a vital component of a happy life. In fact, one side of the eight-sided bagua is related to marriage. That’s because we all look for that one love, that single partner, who will complete our “missing half.” That’s because we live our lives in duality – salt and pepper, two eyes and ears – we are an assembly of pairs and most people try to live their lives as a pair. This is addressed in the southwest gua of the bagua.
Friends, social times, and activities with others are covered in the south gua of the bagua. The south sector, or gua, represents the social nature of people, our name in the community, and fun times. If the south sector of your home is missing or has an affliction, you may suffer from a lack of friends, a bad reputation, gossip, and be lonely as a result. Look over the tips below to help you get a circle of friends around you or a special someone at your side. Remember: everyone needs you as much as you need them!
FENG SHUI TIPS FOR INCREASING FRIENDSHIPS
Boost the south sector with happy images.
The south sector is the sector of friendships and good times. Add artwork of happy groups of people to ensure being invited to happy gatherings. This can be the south sector of your bedroom, your living room, or office. The print below is a perfect example.

Add some fire to your life.
The fire element is the element associated with friendships and good times. You may want to paint the south wall of your living room red to invite more social times and invitations to gatherings. Adding emphasis to your south sector with red paint will help bring attention to your name, and that draws friends and admirers to you.
Boost your personal relationship sector.
Each person has a personal direction that relates to relationships. This direction, when activated appropriately, can help bring attention to you and make others notice you. You may want to wear the colors of your personal relationship direction or even paint your bedroom this color to help bring more friendships to you. To determine your personal relationship direction, go to my Kua Calculator and enter your birthdate.
Add a friendship symbol.
One of the items I personally love are the song birds found at zoos and nature stores around the country. The cardinal is wonderful because it’s a good stand-in for a phoenix, the mythical bird of the south and friendships and fame.
I put a chirping cardinal in my fame sector and squeeze it every day to hear its beautiful song and no sooner than I do this does the phone ring or I get an email from a friend! I like that the bird is red (already activated) and is a perfect symbol of friendships, and it’s chirp calls out to everyone, too! Add a bird symbol in your south sector, such as picture, figurine, or a horse symbol to “fire up” your social sector.
FENG SHUI TIPS FOR SINGLES LOOKING FOR LOVE
Check your sectors.
If you're a man looking for a woman, you will need to check your southwest sector to make sure that 1) it’s not missing; and 2) it’s not afflicted (closet, toilet located there). That’s because the southwest sector is the “woman” in your house and if the “woman” of your house is missing in your home – she might also be missing in your life.
If you’re looking for a man, you will want to be sure that the “man” in your house is there and not missing or afflicted. The “man” in the house is the northwest sector. If you don’t have this sector on your house or it has a toilet, it’s possible that you will have a hard time drawing a male companion to your life.
To remedy either sectors, be sure and boost the relevant corner (northwest or southwest) of your living room, office, and bedroom. Add the appropriate enhancements, such as a pair of glass birds in the southwest (the southwest rules the number 2 and earth elements) or hang a 6-rod hollow windchime in the northwest if you're looking for a man.
Check your personal love direction.
Do what you can to eat, enter, sit, face, and otherwise stimulate your personal relationship direction. To find out what your personal relationship direction is, be sure to check your kua number on the Red Lotus Letter Kua Calculator. Then, follow the recommendations for activating your particular relationship direction.
Wear your personal love direction colors.
Use the laws of attraction and wear the colors recommended in your personal love relationship direction to help draw that special someone to you.
Wear red underwear.
Red is an activator. All feng shui symbols should be activated by the addition of some red string or a dot of red paint. You’re not any different, so put on some red undies to activate yourself! Just knowing you have on red underwear may make you more adventurous – and maybe even ask out that one person in your office you’ve been too nervous to talk to.
Add a love symbol.
Purchase a pair of birds to place in your personal relationship sector. The pair of birds will reinforce your desire to attract a mate. Even a picture of a pair of birds will help to activate your love corner. If you have an affliction in your personal relationship sector, you can also add your love symbol in the southwest corner of your living room, bedroom, or home.
Use feng shui to bring friends, love, and people into your life. Relationships don't have to suffer when you have feng shui. Try these tips today and see if your social circle doesn't widen immediately!
